Dr. Doug Wachob
Doug Wachob is Interim Dean and Director of Academic Programs at the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources, at the University of Wyoming. He was formerly an Associate Executive Director at Teton Science Schools, where he directed the Teton Research Institute, Graduate Program, Teacher Learning Center, Development, and Communications divisions. He also served as Director of Conservation for The Nature Conservancy – Alaska. His academic background is in wildlife ecology with an emphasis on the ecology of human dominated landscapes. He received his BS from the University of Minnesota and MS and PhD degrees from the University of Wyoming in Zoology and Physiology. Doug’s career has focused on conservation, educating students about the natural world and training educators to use the outdoors as an effective educational environment. He has developed and implemented innovative graduate and undergraduate curricula in natural sciences, sustainability, education, and natural resource management, and was an award-winning instructor at the University of Wyoming. He is an avid outdoors person with strong interests in outdoor recreation including cross-country skiing, backpacking, hiking, hunting, and wilderness travel.
