Lucy is a Master’s Candidate at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UC Santa Barbara. She is a Sustainable Water Markets Fellow specializing in Water Resources Management and is particularly interested in how water markets can improve the allocative efficiency of water to support a growing population and maintain rivers for recreation and the environment.
Before starting graduate school, Lucy worked in outdoor education as a Field Instructor, Course Director, and Program Coordinator at several organizations, leading students on camping, hiking, climbing, and paddling trips while teaching them about local ecology and conservation issues. During this time, Lucy worked all over the U.S., exploring and learning more about environmental issues.
Lucy received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Economics and concentration in Environmental Studies from Davidson College in Davidson, NC. She also spent time in the Turks and Caicos Islands, South Africa, and India studying conservation issues. In her free time Lucy loves to paddle, take photos, and create videos of her adventures.
