Cool California Santa Barbara Cool Block Initiative

LegacyWorks helped The Empowerment Institute bring the Cool Block program to Santa Barbara County, beginning with its 2018 partnership with UCSB to deploy the program in Isla Vista. This action-oriented program empowers community organizing, climate action and disaster preparation block by block. LegacyWorks also supported the launch of  the Cool Cities Challenge and Cool California initiative, designed to help all Californians reduce their environmental impact, strengthen local resilience and be part of the climate change solution in a way that activates whole systems climate solutions.
