Santa Barbara Program Update

With the challenges the pandemic has imposed, we are particularly grateful to still be making progress on so many great projects with our remarkable partners. We are finding ways to collaborate and come together over the issues that affect us all. We are happy to share our most recent Santa Barbara Program Update summarizing our local work in conservation, resilience and community impact. As you will see, we are advancing collaborations and public private partnerships at the heart of our most pressing challenges:

  • Addressing the COVID-19 epidemic and its impact on our community, particularly our most vulnerable community members

  • Building resilience to climate change and the most severe ways its showing up locally

  • Reducing the risk of wildfires and mitigating their impact when they inevitably arrive

  • Addressing the epidemic of childhood trauma and building a resilient, loving community

We find ourselves playing a central role in all of these big, messy challenges not because we have the answers, but because we’re good at bringing people together across divides to make progress on complex and critical needs. We can rise to what the occasion requires, even when it seems impossible and out of reach.
