Futuro Cabo del Este
(East Cape Futures)
A platform that promotes regenerative development in the East Cape region of Baja California Sur, honoring people and their land.
The East Cape Futures Initiative acts as a regional transformation catalyst. It fosters community unity, directs investment toward regenerative practices, and protects the region’s natural and cultural heritage.
-
In 1995, facing the threat of the mega-project Cabo Dorado (22,000 hotel rooms, two golf courses, and a marina next to a marine national park), local and international organizations united to stop it. From this was born the Cabo Pulmo Vivo coalition, and with it, a new way of acting: informing, mobilizing, and proposing alternatives.
Based on that lesson, the East Cape Futures Initiative emerged to reshape how tourism and real estate development are envisioned and practiced in the region.
Through this initiative, we seek to guide the tourism real estate sector toward better practices that involve local communities and respect the natural environment. We also aim to foster collaboration, ensure stakeholder commitment, uplift local talent, and raise respect for natural resources—leveraging innovation, research, investment, and knowledge exchange.
-
We built a platform centered on the tourism real estate sector, with local communities and nature at its core. The East Cape Futures Initiative promotes collaboration, leverages talent and resources, and ensures stakeholder commitment to drive regeneration.
The initiative is designed to catalyze and foster partnerships between the private sector, community groups, and regulators—seeking lasting prosperity in Baja California Sur through innovation, research, investment, and knowledge sharing.
