Voices JH joins LegacyWorks family

We’re thrilled to announce that Voices JH has joined the LegacyWorks family as a new fiscal sponsorship in the Tetons. When we first learned of Voices JH through the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, we saw an opportunity to empower a grassroots organizing effort that resonates with so many of our core principles for community-driven impact. 

Voices JH was born at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that vulnerable immigrant and limited English speaking community members had the public health information and financial resources to persevere through the crisis. Drawing on the trust-based relationships of peer mobilizers, Voices JH created a personalized, first-language outreach model. Seven peer mobilizers from the Mexican, Moldovan and Romanian communities communicate individually with a network of over 290 families a week via text, social media and phone calls. They share graphics, videos and links to information and resources from more than a dozen public health and social service organizations that partner with and rely on Voices JH to rapidly get critical information to hard-to-reach community members. This peer-to-peer communication model has been an effective tool for organizations and community members alike, and the mobilizers hope to build on their success beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. 

LegacyWorks feels fortunate to be able to provide a platform and support structure for Voices JH to grow their impact. We believe this partnership is an excellent fit as both Voices JH and LegacyWorks share a big picture ethos of transformative change. We both hold trust, relationships and learning as core values, and are united in our belief in the power of connecting individuals, organizations and funders across sectors to build community resilience. We look forward to seeing how the mobilizers of Voices JH transform the experience of immigrants and limited English speakers in the Tetons as we chart the path together towards a more equitable and resilient community.
