Engagement Manager

The Engagement Manager role is a full-time, exempt position within the Consulting Division of LegacyWorks Group. This position is a remote role and will report to the Vice President of Consulting.

What You’ll Do

The Engagement Manager drives impactful client engagements from planning to delivery, ensuring projects achieve goals on time and with excellence. They build strong, trust-based relationships, foster collaboration, and elevate client and team capacity while promoting equitable participation. Through compelling storytelling and high-quality deliverables, they communicate results and contribute to a culture of learning, innovation, and belonging across the organization.

The Engagement Manager’s role is integral to:

  1. Fostering trust and connectedness with Consulting clients and within the LegacyWorks team 

  2. Building capacity through multiple pathways for changemakers across the country seeking to catalyze transformation in their communities

  3. Facilitating authentic convening spaces to foster the needs and dreams of community members, investors, and partnering organizations  

  4. Catalyzing collective action by creating spaces, tools, and opportunities for collaboration and impact

  5. Sharing stories and clear data to inform and track efforts to create change for good

Your Primary Responsibilities 

  1. Project Planning & Execution

    1. Define project scope, objectives, and success measures in collaboration with clients and consulting teams

    2. Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation

    3. Track and manage project budgets, contracts, and compliance requirements

    4. Monitor progress against milestones to ensure projects remain on schedule and deliver high-quality results

    5. Drive cycles of continuous improvement and evolution across projects and processes

    6. Ensure belonging, access, and opportunity are embedded throughout project design and delivery

    7. Achieve progress and deliver on expectations for team and client goals

  2. Client & Stakeholder Management

    1. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building relationships that move at the speed of trust

    2. Use active listening to surface client priorities, needs, and challenges, and guide stakeholders through complexity with clarity and confidence

    3. Foster trust and alignment with clients through clear, strategic communication that builds credibility and shared understanding

    4. Facilitate collaboration across diverse groups, cultivating shared ownership of project outcomes

    5. Work to transform power dynamics by elevating underrepresented perspectives and creating space for equitable participation

    6. Build capacity in clients and partners by sharing knowledge, tools, and practices that strengthen long-term impact

    7. Provide regular status updates and design meetings, workshops, and presentations that keep stakeholders aligned and informed

  3. Storytelling & Communication

    1. Share the story of the consulting work by weaving data and narratives that highlight successes, lessons learned, and collective impact, inspiring cultural change and broader participation

    2. Develop high-quality deliverables—including pitch decks, graphics, reports, and presentations—that communicate impact and align with client goals and needs

  4. Team & Culture Cultivation

    1. Practice active listening, follow through on commitments, and contribute to a culture of trust and accountability

    2. Share knowledge and ask questions openly, supporting team learning and collective problem-solving

    3. Approach challenges with curiosity and reflection, contributing to thoughtful and collaborative decision-making

    4. Foster belonging, access, and opportunity by treating colleagues with respect and ensuring all voices feel valued

  5. Organizational Collaboration 

    1. Contribute to the evolution of LPW’s collaborative impact model and support initiatives centered around belonging, access and opportunity

    2. Participate actively in team meetings and organizational working groups to foster a cohesive team environment

    3. Comply with all LPW’s systems and policies including, but not limited to, time tracking, credits card expense reporting, reimbursement requests, and other organizational requirements

  • Experience and skills with collaborative and inclusive facilitation 

Additional desired skillsets are: 

  • Knowledge or experience with impact finance

  • Knowledge or experience with data dashboarding

  • Knowledge or experience with strategy and planning 

  • Working knowledge of Google suite 

Compensation & Benefits 

The salary range for the Engagement Manager position is $75,000-$95,000 based on relevant qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, vision and dental coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, remote work stipend, and unlimited vacation time alongside sick leave.
