Alina Breceda

Program Associate

Alina studied Environmental Engineering in Guadalajara and received her Masters in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science (LUMES) from Lund University in Sweden, at the Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies. While in graduate school she focused her thesis research on a fishing community in Sinaloa where she applied the Social-Ecological Systems framework to identify leverage points for the improved sustainability of the Santa Maria Bay and community wellbeing. 

She is the Program Associate for the East Cape Futures Program: a program aimed at building the network of essential partnerships and catalyzing the tourism and real estate industries towards better, more regenerative practices in Baja California Sur.  

Alina, originally from Sinaloa, Mexico, now lives in La Ventana, Baja California Sur, where she loves to practice kitesurfing, hiking and running. Her love of nature is entwined with her academic and professional paths, as well as her hobbies and passions.
