Panos Symrnios
Panos Smynios joined LegacyWorks Group as an Engagement Manager within the Consulting Division, where he works at the intersection of impact finance, policy, and community to support public, private, and nonprofit partners in advancing ambitious conservation and resilience projects. His experience spans public and environmental health, climate resilience, and conservation, with a focus on capacity building, policy development, partnerships, and advocacy. He has led and supported multi-million-dollar, cross-sector programs at local, national, and global scales. Panos focuses on facilitating connections, building trusted relationships, and delivering place-based solutions.
Most recently, he worked with NOAA Fisheries to manage a $3 million biodiversity and climate resilience initiative across Latin America. He helped develop capacity-building programs for fisheries management and climate resilience, built relationships with government, NGO, and community leaders, and engaged high-level decision-makers in Colombia to support adoption of UN agreements addressing illegal fishing.
Raised in Colorado, Panos is an avid mountain biker, skier, fisher, and outdoor enthusiast. As a first-generation American, the son of Greek and Cuban parents, he values engaging with international cultures and communities.
