Associate Director of the Resourceful Communities

Dave Walker serves as Associate Director of the Resourceful Communities program at LegacyWorks Group, where he directs the Faith & Food and Healthy Communities, Healthy Economies Initiatives, which engages rural churches and communities to address social determinants of health through more effective use of church resources, authentic partnerships, local food access, economic development, and outdoor engagement. He previously served in the same role under The Conservation Fund. 

Before he joined Resourceful Communities in 2022, he worked as the Development Director/Co-Director for Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture and operated a community-scale farm in Boone, North Carolina. Dave holds an M.A. in Appalachian Studies, a Graduate Certificate in GIS from Appalachian State University, and a B.A. in American Studies from Sewanee: The University of the South. He enjoys contra dancing, paddling, and fishing North Carolina’s many rivers and streams, and cooking with family and friends.
