Resilience Specialist, Avon Park AFR Sentinel Landscape
Hannah, a recent graduate from Stetson University, holds a B.S. in Environmental Science with a concentration in Geospatial Analysis, complemented by a minor in Public Health. Inspired by her passion for the environment and its impact on human health, she is driven to make a difference in the field.
In her role as the Avon Park Air Force Range Sentinel Landscape (APAFRSL) Resilience Specialist, she supports the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and its partners by providing outreach and technical assistance to underserved and new landowners within the APAFRSL and the Florida Wildlife Corridor. Focusing on collaboration, she works closely with the sentinel landscape coordinator, partners, and supporters to identify, implement, and accelerate collaborative projects aimed at enhancing resilience.
Hannah's professional journey is enriched by a diverse range of internships. At the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council (ECFRPC), she examined historical land use and urban development practices for the Brevard Sea Grant project, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to highlight the importance of preserving open spaces for historically disadvantaged communities. At Volusia County Environmental Management, she identified and compiled Best Management Practices (BMPs) to develop a comprehensive Low Impact Development (LID) Technical Manual and an incentive matrix to encourage sustainable development practices. During her fellowship with the National Audubon Society, she led Martin County, Florida, through a systematic process of measuring, managing, and tracking greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Hannah is driven by an unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship and community well-being, Hannah is passionate about crafting a future where resilience, sustainability, and inclusivity thrive hand in hand.
