Lauren is an environmental educator, communicator, and project manager passionate about place-based conservation and equity initiatives that support local communities. Raised on a regenerative ranch in central Arizona, Lauren developed her love for nature through generational land stewardship practices and unlimited opportunities to adventure outside.
Lauren is equally at home in the desert, rangeland, mountains, and underwater. She has experience in landscape preservation, working lands management, and marine science education. She holds SCUBA certifications in both scientific and rescue diving.
With BA degrees in Environmental Science and Studio Art from Scripps College, and a MEd in Education from Arizona State University, Lauren’s professional background spans outdoor education, classroom teaching, inclusive land management, and community resilience. This diversity of experience has supported Lauren’s work with federal agencies, nonprofits, and education organizations, where she has led capacity building, resource development, outreach, facilitation, data visualization, and communications efforts. Lauren believes impactful storytelling helps build connections between people and the planet.
Lauren lives in Flagstaff, Arizona with her husband and dog. They love the Southwest and still create time to return regularly to the ocean. Lauren loves learning about native plants, and in her free time she enjoys reading, creative writing, painting, printmaking, hiking, camping, snowshoeing, paddle boarding, diving, and exploring tide pools.
