Marguerite Leek

Faith and Food Coordinator for Resourceful Communities

Marguerite has long held a passion for just food systems. Marguerite serves as a Faith and Food Coordinator for Resourceful Communities at LegacyWorks Group, where she works with rural United Methodist churches to support innovative food projects through technical assistance and capacity building. She previously served in the same role under The Conservation Fund. Prior to this role, Marguerite worked with a variety of non-profits and universities doing food access work, including the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and Duke University. 

Marguerite is from Western North Carolina. She holds a M.S. in Food Studies from Syracuse University, where she studied emergency food systems and the Right to Food. Marguerite also has her B.A. in Communications and Global Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Marguerite currently lives in Durham, North Carolina, with her partner and their dog, Smuggs. She enjoys spending time outside, reading, and working on various craft projects.
