Amelia Leahy

Project Associate

Amelia completed her B.A. in History at the University of San Diego and her M.A. in Museum Studies at the University of San Francisco. During her time at USD, Amelia led groups into the outdoors as an adventure guide for her university’s outdoor leadership program. Her two favorite adventures have been backpacking in the Grand Canyon and canoeing on the Colorado River. In graduate school, Amelia gained a passion for environmental education and accessibility within the museum space. While completing her program, Amelia taught science and ecology classes through the Randall Museum in San Francisco. For her graduate capstone, she worked with the Five Oaks Museum in Portland, Oregon, to develop an in-classroom curriculum program on White Oak Tree ecology in the Tualatin Valley.

At LegacyWorks, Amelia supports projects in the Santa Barbara region, including Ellwood Mesa, the Community Dashboard, and Community Resilience.
